Enhance Opportunities of Eastern Africa Farmer Organizations in effective policy dialogue engagement for food security governance and improvement of rural livelihood.

This project aims to enhance the opportunities of East African farmers to participate and contribute effectively in food security policy dialogue for a better farmer livelihood. The indicator of achievement for the overall objective is that East Africa Farmers have participatory defined their contribution to Food Security Policy dialogue and put it into value at regional, national and sub-national level. The source of verification will be the existence and application of strategic guidelines for FOs involvement in food security-related policy debates.

The specific objective is to strengthen the capacities, engagement and effectiveness of Eastern Africa FOs in policy-making, having an impact on food security and nutrition. The indicator of achievement for the overall objective is the messages elaborated into strategic policies utilized to influence the decision making process. The project is implemented in four countries – Burundi, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, through one EAFF member organization in each country.
