Strengthen advocacy capacity of smallholder farmers in reinforcing accountability and resource availability in agricultural sector

This is a partnership project with TRUST AFRICA, an organisation that works to support advocacy capacity of rural communities in Africa. The project aims at advocating for increasing budgetary allocation for agriculture in the national budget as a way of developing agricultural sector and address food security. This project basically attempts to remind the government to deliver on its promise as stipulated in Maputo Declaration of 2003 to gradually increase agricultural budget allocation to a minimum of 10%.

The objectives of this project are:
1. To enable legislators support the initiatives to increase budgetary allocation of agriculture in national budget.

2. To increase governance and accountability at local government level

3. To create awareness to smallholder farmers so that they demand more budgetary allocations and better services
